During Summer 2026, we met with residents, businesses, community groups and stakeholders across West Cumbria at a range of events and locations, as well as through our online survey. We are grateful to everyone who took the time to learn more about the emerging proposals, ask questions and share their views.
Pioneer Park is still in the early stages of development, and the feedback received during the consultation period has provided valuable insights into the challenges, opportunities and priorities that matter most to local people.
What matters most to you?
Throughout the consultation, we asked people across West Cumbria to share their priorities, ideas and concerns for the future of the area and the role Pioneer Park could play.
Feedback covered a wide range of topics, including employment opportunities, skills and training, apprenticeships, support for local businesses and supply chains, clean energy, transport and infrastructure improvements, environmental considerations and wider community benefits.
Next Steps
As Pioneer Park remains in the early stages of development, community and stakeholder feedback will continue to play an important role in shaping the project. The consultation completed in summer 2026 marks the beginning of an ongoing conversation, and we will continue to keep residents, businesses and partners informed as plans evolve.
